Terms of Use
These terms are the agreement between you and Lalai for the Lalai app. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
What you may do with it
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Lalai on devices you own or control, for your own private listening. You may not redistribute, broadcast, resell, rent out or publicly perform the stories, recordings or artwork, extract them from the app, or use them to train machine-learning models. Everything in the app remains ours or our licensors'; the licences for the individual field recordings are listed under Where the sounds came from in the app.
Subscriptions
- Some content is free forever and needs no subscription. The rest requires Lalai, an auto-renewing monthly subscription.
- New subscribers get a 7-day free trial, once. The exact price, currency and trial shown in the app at the moment you subscribe are the ones that apply.
- Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when the trial ends, or at once if you are not eligible for a trial.
- It renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the current period, and you keep access until that period ends.
- If you subscribe during a free trial, any unused part of the trial is forfeited.
- Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, not by us.
This is not medical advice
Lalai is for relaxation and entertainment. It is not a medical device and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, including insomnia or any other sleep disorder. It is not a substitute for professional advice. If you are worried about your sleep or your health, speak to a doctor. Do not listen while driving or operating machinery, and please set the volume at a level that is comfortable and safe for your hearing.
The service may change
We add and occasionally retire stories and sounds, and we may change how the app works. We will not remove so much paid content that the subscription stops being worth what you paid for the current period. We may suspend access if the app is being misused or the content is being copied or redistributed.
Availability and liability
The app is provided "as is". We do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of faults — paid content needs an internet connection, and the stores, networks and servers it depends on are not all ours. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here affects your statutory consumer rights.
Apple and Google
This agreement is between you and Lalai alone. Apple and Google are not parties to it and are not responsible for the app or its content. Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Any support, and any claim that the app fails to conform to a warranty, is a matter for us, not for them — write to support@lalai.app. You also confirm you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or on a US Government restricted-parties list.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, whose courts have jurisdiction — without depriving you of any protection given to you by the mandatory law of the country you live in.
Changes
We will post any change to these terms on this page and update the date at the top. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
